E-Polimorfismoi
O Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health problem; as of 2017, ~1.2 million people died from this disease. e-Polymorphismoi is an e-health platform that aims to assist in the treatment of people suffering from CKD. Apart from patient management procedures, the platform will provide personalized treatment recommendations and alert the health professionals for potential complications stemming from the prescribed treatment. In this direction, the platform integrates a Decision Support System (DSS) that combines patient information to provide such recommendations.
The DSS will be based on the following information:
– Patient Information: the patient’s characteristics and results of medical examinations
– Pharmacogenomics information: the genetic makeup of a patient and how it affects the response in the pharmacological treatment
– Prescribed medication: complications of individual drugs or their interactions with other prescribed drugs, food, and alcohol
